Our plan was to head out to Greenwater and head up over the mountain passes to the Stampede area over on I-90. Well that didn't happen, the temp was in the low teens but with the 20-30mph wind it was well into the single diggets so the snow was very hard and icy. We made it a few miles up one trail, turned around and back up to another ridge and then headed home that night. I think everyone was stuck at one point or another:sombrero:

That is up where I explore a lot.
Did you go up 70 then hang a left to that one road?
I forget the number, but if you stay on it you will eventually be on a pea gravel road over to Stampede.

We like to take 70 all the way up too and on over the mountain and hook up with a black top road that follows the river down and you end up on the Eastern side of Chinook Pass.
Closed now for sure, but we do that in the summer and fall time.
