Guinea vs Guinea-Bissau

Hello all,

I'm going to heading down to West Africa for a number of weeks in my LC 200 very shortly. Other than my already established destinations(i.e., Mauritania, Senegal, etc), I'm also thinking about checking out Guinea or Guinea-Bissau. Are there any general suggestions between the 2 of them? I'd probably do only one or other given timing.

I'm not going to be doing anything too crazy, as I've already done some beautiful desert/dune drives in Mauritania in the recent past. Going to be heading down from Spain.

I'd avoid Guinea Conakry, pretty unstable right now.
In the late 1970s I passed through there on a motor cycle from Sierra Leone to Mali. That was at a time when the US and Guinea had no diplomatic relations. I used dollars and some kola nut to make it through.

I absolutely loved my month in Guinea..it was the first county I fell in love with in west africa, and when I knew the expedition was going to be incredible!
