Haggis
Appalachian Ridgerunner
I thought I'd start a thread for my trusty '01 Ram Offroadster. He's been ignored for a few years because of the Jeeps, but now it's time for some upgrades. Pre-Portal mods have included rear Detrior Locker, front E-locker, Rhino Lined bed and rockers and the others in my signature. Last month I suffered a case of lift envy and considered lifting the truck a bit more to mount some 35s. But since Haggis (the truck) has gone every where I've pointed it without so much as a whimper, I fought of the inner redneck and decided I'm going to instead concentrate on more practical mods that enhance it's 2 primary functions, Work and Camp Vehicle.
Post-Portal Plans include Rack, Rock Sliders, Winch, On-board Air, Air Assist Helper Springs, and a few others. I'm not interested in mall crawler mods, just ones that improve the trucks usefulness. Rock sliders are on order, but I got the rack last week, installed it today. Rack is a Smittybilt brand I got from Northern Tool for $250.00 and used my free shipping coupon I've been holding on to. Rack was easy to assemble but a pain to set up on the truck. Finally used my Skidsteer and rigged 'er up to set it up on the bed. I pretty happy with it but wished it sat a bit lower, can't fit the truck in the garage now. I've done some eyeball engineering and think I've solve that problem, but that will have to wait till I get more free time. Included are pictures of the rack.
