Handle-All

I was at Desert Rat yesterday looking for some Hi-Lift parts; they didn't have them, but of course I looked around a little bit. On my way out, spotted the drool tool, that I've seen in them fancy magazines, and without hesitation hooted,"How much are thease things runnin' again?"

A: "bout $130.00 I think".

R: "one thirty, I thought they were like twice that"

A: "nope"

R: "oh, that must have been the Max-Axe I was thinkin of"

A: yep, they're up there

R: well, shoot, I'd pay 30 bucks for a good shovel anyhow, and this thing you don't have to worry about secruing it, nor the Axe, and you get a helluva sledge, and a pick shouldja need one......

So, the dissa pointed wife and I looked er over and totally agree, this thing is BUILT tough; I am very happy with the product, and it's versatility, and stowability.

I have had one now for quite awhile.
I like the ease of having it in the rig full time behind the drivers seat.

No more having to put the shovel and axe on the rack like I did in the past.

4WD Toyota Owner magazine owner David Zartman has a good article on it compared to the Maxx Ax in a back issue, and there was a PDF file online on a forum too, but I am having trouble finding it right now.

How are the vibrations in the handle when using the sledge or axe though? Seems like under hard, long use it would be quite uncomfortable for the arms and elbows.

I wear those at work most of the day.

There is a compromise with this tool, but being a multifunctional one where it all fits into a bag makes it worth it for me instead of carrying multiple tools hung on the outside of the rig.
Plus I know it is there if I need it quickly.

I mentioned in another thread somewhere it would have been nice if they had a T or D handle that slipped into the end on the handle.
I am sure someone could fab these up with a locking pin and sell them to owners.

I'll check out the log splitting vibrations here shortly; I have plenty to split. The T-handle idea's pretty interesting, I may try to play with that idea.
