Have a K5? Got a tape measure?

I have searched a bit here and googled but no luck. Can anyone tell me the length of the "bed" on a K5? I am looking at 70's through 80's blazers. Also I am aware that it switched from being a full hard top to one that started behind the cab. So I imagine they could be different lengths. Imagine I was trying to buy a leer topper for it, that would be the type of measurement I would need.

One of these may fit the bill for me for many reasons and if my little plan with the "truck bed" area works out it's going to be sweet..........

The next step will be to find the old guy who drove it gently as a stock rig for it's whole lifespan.

Here is one for sale in Dallas, I have no interest in this, just saw it on CL.

Not to discourage you from do-it-yourself flippac ideas if you really want to go that route - there were 4Wheel and Hallmark brand campers purpose built for Blazers. Might save you a bunch of measuring, cutting, fabricating, etc. Here's a current cheapo in a Denver Craigslist with a parts truck, for example, photos below.

I'd measure my K5's bed, but there's a permanently mounted camper unit in the way, and it is hard to tell on its floor just where the bed begins & ends...

Hey that's pretty fun, green is a good color. I found some in Washington that are pretty cherry and not too bad on price. When I am ready to get serious about a purchase I won't be surprised if I come south to pick one up.

I have seen those, and like them. However I am looking to go more incognito . You are dead on with the flippac, only I don't want to go homemade I plan on buying the flippac that is the closest to a good fit, then custom fitting the gap between the shell and the cab. There would be a few other things you would have to do to the flippac, like remove the forward wall, which would then require (I would think) a roll bar like reinforcement to support the flippac's pivot area.

It's all brain storming at this time, but I was hoping to figure out the bed size so I could inquire at flippac about what they have that would be close to fitting.

Thanks for the responses.
