Well I guess you could say I am a Jeep guy. Well I am on the hunt for an exploration rig that will carry my growing family for years to come. I was in ShowLow yesterday and there is a Land Cruiser for sell and the guy is asking 3500 bucks and I think its a 1983 model year and the head liner is starting to sag, the rear pinion seal is leaking, has a few dents and I forgot the mileage. What I need to know is this a good rig to work with is the price fair and whats with the closed knuckle front. Give me what you got

Thanks in advance

Lot of questions.

The FJ60 is one of the all-time classic vehicles, I absolutely loved the one I drove for many many years in fact I learned to drive in that FJ60.

I've seen FJ60s go for $500-$25000 so there is a broad price spectrum. I've been lucky in that I've never seen a headliner go but that's never an inexpensive job so take that into account.

IS IT STOCK as STOCK GETS?

Probably cheaper to change the whole 3rd member than go repress the pinion.

Great rigs to work on LOTS of potential from crawling to round-the-world travel. The "closed knuckles" are called birfields. Just basically a CV. Pretty stout design.

Very hard to say for 3,500 without pictures, but no doubt in good condition they are great truck. With more $ you could find a diesel!.

Alot of aftermarket parts and support, i would go to forum.ih8mud.com for more info.
