Help! Gen 2.5 battery replacement

Had some slow starts with the old battery in my '98 and just bought a brand new super start platinum from o'reilly. Popped the old battery out, put the new one in and connected everything and now all 4 corner lights and dash cluster blink like my hazards are on and I can't get the truck to turn over. Is there some kind of reset I have to do? Never seen this before

Your alarm is going off (probably have cut wires for the siren) and the starter kill is thinking you are trying to steal it. You need to push the valet switch on the dash then disarm, the red light is the button.

What he said. Then when you have some time search this site for "alarm" or "alarm removal." Some good soul posted instructions some time back on removing the factory alarm. Excellent instructions. Thrilled to have that gone.

That's some ace advise! I don't have the key fob so I wasn't even sure I had an alarm. That's what it was, I completely disconnected the alarm and cut/spliced the wires for the kill switch, worked like a charm! Thanks!!!
