1988 Chevy 2500 RCLB 2wd...its NOT full floating and has only 6 bolt wheels...th400 trans

IIRC,89 came with the 14 bolt and 8 bolts wheels...

i would like to purchase a RICHMOND GEAR LockRight for it and a 3,73 gearset for it as the 3,42s are starting to whine underload...

any help would be appreciated..i have searched ..but to no avail...

you truck is what's know as a "heavy halfton" and has the 14 bolt semifloat rear axle

This was GM's way of making the truck heavy.....but still only a half ton:victory:

Full float 14b can usually be found dirt cheap and depending on what gears you want may already have them. They can be converted to disk easy, easy to shave, tons of aftermarket support, super easy to set up. Might be worth the swap.

this is a good swap but rember the front has to match and a 6lug to 8 luck can get you in to money for no extra gain in the front. the semi float 14 is not that bad I have them in my rigs in 6 and 8 lug versions.

It would be a 14bolt semi float.

I'm running a a 6x5.5, disk braked, Detroited, 14 bolt semi float under my M1009 I sourced from an 88 light duty 2500. It works.
