Just a few shots of the welds, not to bad for a 25 year old Century 130 MIG welder. Remember, this is 1/4in thick steel.

Awesome! Great work.

What did you use to cut the tub? Sawzall or a cutting disk or? Guessing cutting disk.

Since you are in AZ are you going to bother with a weather tight top? I like the idea of the TJ Unlimited top adapted to the YJ.

No more progress for a while. At least untill I generate some more funds. I broke 3 out 4 of the body mounts taking the rear tub section out. They were rusted solid in place and they just snapped when I put pressure on them.

So I might as well use this as an opportunity to replace/repair all of them with some one inch lift poly mounts (so I can raise the trans for a flat skid) and box/beef up the frame mounts as well.

I'm also considering adding an X brace-crossmember thing at the cut to stiffen up the chassis at that point.
