I saw something about this a while back but for the life of me I cant find it, so forgive me cause I know that this has been covered in a thread before.

Is this normal?

This evening i had to drive through my yard it has been raining all day so the ground was saturated. While in 2h my traction control kicked and It felt like I lost all power in my drive terrain. I put it 4h and had no problem and it functioned like it was supposed to so I put it back it 2h and gave it some gas to kick the traction control in and it again felt like all power was gone. I could feel the tires spinning so I know t.c. was trying to do something.

Thanks everyone.

I know that in a lot of cars that traction control simply reduces throttle so you are not spinning your wheels. Other systems will brake the spinning wheels only but in a lot of passenger vehicles, all it does is cut throttle, which can be a bit dangerous if they are over zealous with it (such as cutting power when you are trying to pull out into traffic).

I used to have a van with traction control and when the wheels started spinning the engine cut power to that wheel. In the winter while trying to pull out of my driveway I'd have to turn off the traction control because the van would just come to a stop.

Thanks guys, it must be normal under very slick conditions. I remeber on dry days when the traction control kicked in it would pull the truck forward, So my guess is when the wheels are spinning and it cant catch any traction what so ever it cuts power.
