Hennesy Hammock

These are the bomb. I bought one 2 years ago and I've never gone back to a tent. They are super light (1.5-2.5 lbs with fly), extremely comfortable. They are the best bug proof enclosure you can imagine. They can be put up in under a minute without the fly and under 5 minutes with the fly.

On this trip I weathered a huge thunderstorm in the hammock. I was a little worried but I stayed completely dry. NICE!

I've used em to camp in a swamp, in the desert (tied between trucks) in the forest, and over water (when the swamp flooded).

Can't say enough about em.

I like that a lot, looks like a great way to catch some zzzzz's.

Of course to a bear, you just look like a swinging pig in a blanket! :eatchicke :D:D:D:D:D

You know, bear attacks on Californians never really bothered me for some reason.....;)

So even in a heavy rain, the water didn't follow the cords tied to the tree, down into the hammock? I like the idea of using it in the desert, away from scorpions and such.

Nope. The way you tie the knots at both ends, the excess line hangs down a bit and that's what the water runs down.

I will have to dig up some photos of a trip we did a few years ago in the okefenokee swamp. It was flooded so we slept in the hammocks over our boats. Just tied them up to trees while in our canoes and slept over the water. Just had to remember not to just stand up in the am LOL!

Your right though they are great. I have actually been selling those in my store for a few years now. They are great for kayak trips especially.

I'd love to see the pics! I've become somewhat of a hennesy salesman myself, although always to someone else's profit... :) I am what you would call a loyal customer.

Another nice hammock...

I own a hennessy backpacker ul and i like it alot. I also own a clark jungle hammock and like it better. The clark is a bit bulkier and somewhat more cumbersome to hang but, the build quality(hennessy does a great job, "I" just think clark does it a little better)is great, the no tip feature is awesome, the dual side entry comes in very handy, the weather shield has saved my butt a few times(i felt like stargaizing and rolled the fly away, well, a heavy drizzle came late in the night and i was already cozy so i just zipped in the weather shield and whent back to sleep), inside pockets, loops and pull handle comein handy and the bottom gear pockets have enabled me to seep without a foam insulation pad in temps down to the high 30's just by stuffing some leaves and dry grass in the pockets.

Dont get me wrong the hennessy gets all the summer trips but for the rest of the year, you can find me swinging in my clark north american hammock.

Thanks.

Gonzzo.

P.S.
I DO NOT work for clark jungle hammocks or hennessy hammocks, im just a loyal customer.

My Henny is the only thing I will sleep in when I'm out in the woods. I've been using mine for a couple years. I've got it set up with the snake skins to make it easier to pack and set up. I'm also using a larger silk nylon rain fly.

Heres a pic of me and a kayaking buddy sleeping the night before our launch. We couldn't find any good trees, so we just tied off on my kayak rack & the park sign.

This very well may be the solution to my problem.

I'll be camping at a different location every night for 6 months next year and am dreading the thought of putting up a tent every night and packing it up every morning. Not to mention that I need to save on space as much as possible.

Thanks for posting this thread!
