Build your own trailer and then buy one of these tents! Modular depending on size of group you are camping with. I think you would have to make special arrangements to get it shipped here but with a starting bid of $2K it might be worth it. It might run you close to a grand to ship it, who knows? would be cool though.

If you have that large of a family or group of friends that you camp with and want a hotel sized tent, look for Army surplus units, much more cost effective.

From personal experience I can tell you that putting up and taking down a traditional single trailer tent can be a major pain in comparison to a standard roof top tent. You are typically looking at a 5 minute job for a RTT vs. a 20 minute job for a trailer tent.

Obviously the length of time taken to deploy the tent will depend on how complex the design is. Looking at this tent I'd say it would be closer to the 20 minute mark. Each additional section may take 15-20 minutes to put up.

If you are driving and setting up a semi permanent base camp some of that pain can be negated, but if you're breaking camp frequently and traveling a lot it gets old very quick.

Big tents are great .......... as long as you are not the one putting them and pulling them down every night .
I had a much smaller trailer tent setup ( pic attached ) ......... and have now sold it .

I found that it took to long to setup and hence we were not getting out often enough .They where a pain in the butt to try to setup by yourself .
I have since gone to a Conqueror Conquest that I found over here for sale in (Aus) . I am yet to get out in it ( due to the weather ) , but hoping to real soon.
