My friends were part of the wash out on the Mineral Bottom road. Their truck is still at the bottom. We are heading out Friday morning to pick up the truck. We can't go in any earlier than 8 am. We have to pick up our backcountry permit from the Islands in the Sky Visitor Center. At this point be are going to blaze (safely of course) around to Potato Bottom where we have a reservation to stay the night. (The Park service was good enough not to charge us for the camping.) However we have left open the possibility of camping at the Mineral Bottom pull out. If we can make it all the way, we would like to pick up their truck and give ourselves more time on Saturday to make it out. Also there is one more rig down there that is severely stuck, (sunk to his frame :Wow1: in mud. They tried to dig out, but could not get out without a pull) and he is now going to join us and we are going to try and get him pulled out as well. We will see if the old Jeep can make it around the Rim one more time. :safari-rig: Wish us luck.
