I looked and couldn't find a thread for the LR3 guys to post their milage..

What is the highest milage you know of on a LR3?

I know of one that has 250,000 miles on LandRoverForums.org, and many many LR3's over 150,000 miles.

There is a D3 in the UK with 565,000 on it and climbing daily.

He has folders of service books, all main dealer serviced for warranty and also courtesy car for when it's in for getting work done.

Wow. That is very interesting. Wonder what things he has done to it? That is as good as anything out there! Wow

Original TDV6 engine was replaced at 478k.
The torque convertor went at 330k, back then LR had the box sealed for life. This is no longer the case.
Think the back diff has been changed as well.

Then it's the usual front lowers, rear uppers, arb all round, drop links. Etc.

He has a fastidious attitude to maintenance as it tows every day, so he can't afford to have it braking down on him.

They are built to last with regular servicing. :)

A guy here in ATL just rolled 300k on his. Its a daily driver pavement pounder. Has had to do the diffs, air suspension pump, shocks, and fix the water leaks. Oh, tires, brakes, oils, and radiator flush.

The engine and trans in these trucks seem to be pretty reliable.

I am assuming that is the V8. There are some sixes running around.

I guess I've got a ways to go. At a mere 129k. Last year I completely rebuilt the suspension, replaced all bushings, suspension arms, rebuilt the air struts, replace both front CV joints, and replaced front and rear wheel bearings, etc. I've done my front and rear diffs, changed the transfer case oils and transmission fitted with a metal pan. Latest update was replacing the lower steering joint, and I've got the inner and outer tie rod ends and a drive shaft on order. The vehicle drives like new, except the mileage has been slowly dropping, mostly due to the ethanol gas.

PM me for diffs/parts.

I sold my 2006 RRS (I guess I qualify since the original Sport is really just an LR3 in drags) with 210K miles on the odometer last year. My car should now be enjoying its retirement in Costa Rica, as a recreational vehicle of the lucky owner who bought it from me for his vacation home there. Never had any trouble with the silky smooth engine (4.4 NA V8), transmission, xfer case or differentials - I had the electronic rear locking one. Only "big ticket" items in 7 years of ownership were front LCAs, front wheel hubs and front air shocks, which all went out somewhere between 120 and 200K miles. I did off-road the vehicle quite a bit though, so some of those failures were probably induced somewhat. I think my original EAS compressor failed at 80K miles as well, plus a number of sway bar bushings. Everything else was just wear and tear stuff. I followed LR's recommended maintenance schedule for my model, no more, no less, through my trusty indy shop after the warranty and free maintenance contract were up.

I've had my 2013 LR4 for just over a year now, 33K miles. So far, not a single issue other than a prematurely failing battery (warranty item), I hope it's half as reliable as my old Sport was and I'll be happy.

umbertob's post is a great example of how well these vehicles are made, and how long they can last if maintained properly. Hopefully a lot of people will read this. I hope to get this kind of mileage out of our LR3 and my wifes RR Sport.

These reports are encouraging. In the next 2-3 months I need to get a capable ride for my wife to have as a DD (she is a stay at home mom with 3 kids) that would be ready for anything like a rover would. We wanna take it camping and trails too cross country etc... We are gonna spend between 10-15k. I think we could pull off a LR3 with 80,000 to 110,000 or so in that range. I just wanted to know how long folks were driving these for. Sounds like with proper maintenance they can run forever with only a handful of problem spots. Not saying I still don't have reservations but there are some long running mid 2000 age machines out there!
