SOLD
Due to lack of work, I'm going to have to sell the best bike I've ever built/owned. My totally custom 89 Honda Transalp that I like to call the RallyeAlp.
Ok so here's the deal, I built this bike last year with the intention of it being my ultimate do it all bike. I wanted something that could take some serious off road stuff and be happy traveling down the interstate at 75 mph in comfort as well. I believe I exceded my goals and then some. This thing does all of the above and does it very well. I rode this on the TWVT a couple months ago and it did great! 900 miles in 3 days including some pretty nasty two track trails, dirt roads, gravel roads, twisty two lane and a 200 mile interstate ride home. It did fantastic.
I started with a low mileage bike that had been sitting outside for at least 10 years. It basically needed every piece of body work replaced with the exception of one rear side panel and the rear fender. I got her home, cleaned the carbs and she started right up and ran great.
The tank was rusted pretty bad but that was ok as I wanted something larger. So I got on eBay international and bought a very nice 6.5 gallon Africa Twin tank. I also didn't care for the stock drum rear brake so I also imported a rear wheel and rear disc brake assembly from an Africa Twin.
For body work, I contacted Boano in Italy and purchased their Africa Twin Rallye kit. This gives the Transalp a completey different look, feel and style, and gave it that Rallye look which I LOVE!!!
Another thing that needed addressing was the suspension. Stock TA suspension just doesn't cut it offroad. I installed a pair of forks from a XR650L which is much better offroad than the wimpy TA shocks. The rear was a little harder, after hours searching the internet I found that a 83 CR250 shock was the exact lenght that I needed and completely adjustable and rebuildable. I swapped to the stiffer spring, had it revalved and mounted it up to the TA. WOW, what a difference this makes on anything rougher than a gravel road. You can actually carry speed over the rough stuff now as apposed to the serious bottoming out with the stock suspension.
The bike has right around 7600 miles, I have programed the AceWell to match the origional miles.
Here is a list of other things that were modified or changed to aftermarket.

The only other things that I had left to do to this bike is powder coat the frame, swingarm and replace the seat with a Renazaco as the stock cover is dry and cracking. The frame isn't really all that bad, it just has that weathered look from sitting outside for so long. The paint and body is in mint condition and has never been down.
You can see the BMW tail bag in this shot...
New Battlewings...
I'm selling the bike as is for $5000. Now if someone wants me to tear the bike down and have the frame powder coated, I will do the labor for free for the $5000 dollar price. All that I ask is that you pay to have it blasted and PCed which should be around $250-$300. I can have this done in about a weeks time. The title is free and clear in my name. The 376c GPS, Trailtech mount and Aquabox in the pics are not included unless you want to buy them extra for the replacement price.
I can also work with you on delivery of this bike if you can cover my expenses.
