Nice. The high desert is a great place to explore by bike ... and it's sooooo green this year. We used to live in McDowell Mountain Ranch, right up against Thompson Peak, and I miss being at that end of town with Sonoran trails right in our backyard.

Great place to live. I love that area. Not too crowded and nice hiking and biking! I need to do thompson peak actually. Never been to the top.

Its just pain weird how green it is. We saw that spot of green (in the pic above) from about a mile away. It looked so out of place being such a bright and vibrant green that I was a bit worried we had stumbled upon someones "wacky tabacki" growing spot. ;)

We did it a couple years ago. It's easy from the Fountain Hills side, since there's a service road. We came from the McDowell Mountain Ranch side (SW side) and didn't designated (or at least used) trail after leaving the riverbed at bottom and until hitting the service road a few hundred yards from the top. It was a pretty good hike ... with a great view as reward.

gallery here (only had my P&S with me)
