I recently purchased a new 2" hitch cargo carrier in order to carry my honda 2000 generator. I carry a Honda xr650L Dual Sport bike on the back of my Truck Camper so I needed to move the Honda Generator Box to the front hitch carrier.

The Hitch Carrier was purchased from "eTrailer" and is for a 2" receiver and is an ATV model. It's rated for 150 pounds so it works well for the Honda 2000 generator at 53 pounds with fuel.
The Generator fits into a 24 Gallon Action Packer, and the action packer is in a Baja Bin I bought from "Swag Off-Road." The Baja Bin is attached with locking nuts at the bottom to the carrier. Then the Baja Bin has 2 master locks. I know the entire set up is not theft proof, if someone wants it they can get it, but that goes for anything, I am just trying to make it more difficult to steal.
Advantage of this type of carrier is that it sits higher than normal cargo carriers and will not hinder (too much) the take-off angle when ascending hills. Additionally you can see the top of the carrier from the drivers seat so you know how far it extends in front of the truck and it doesn't hinder the headlights.
I posted so that others looking for hitch carrier ideas would see another option!
