The best automotive electrican I have ever found is:
Lencho's Auto Electric
6138 Atlantic Blvd, Maywood, CA 90270
[East] Los Angeles County
(323) 773-6738
The guy is in his 70's, has a one-car garage, and knows his craft... years ago, brought my Landcruiser in to him... told him it would - mysteriously - die on the freeway, then fire right up again, minutes later.
He found my Landcruiser had a short in the steering column - in less than three hours!
Less than $100, and we were back on the road [I can only imagine what a dealer would have charged].
Five-star rating!
Searching can be fun, but a sticky sure could reduce the time expended...
As an aside, when I initally got my '85 LC I took it to Penske Toyota... on a Saturday... was wondering what they would charge for a myriad of services. The service staff [young guys] got excited, as if they had never seen one... was chatting with them, then one of the kids comes up and asks where do they plug the computer into it! I - literally - had to wait until the following monday, so that their "old school" mechanic could check it out. True story...
If a "sticky" for mechanic recommendations exists please point me in the right direction, thanks.
