Hi guys

Looking around a property recently, I found a Cruiser sitting in storage - had a decent look & a talk with the owner - turns out it has the following chassis number on the build plate - JT711FJ8108000001 - built in Sept 89. Is RHD GX spec, petrol, fully optioned - 7 seater - air con - factory locking diffs..........

What would it be worth..........?? :Wow1:

Where are you located? (country) That isn't a US spec for sure as the 80 didn't come here till 1990, was not RHD, did not have lockers available until 1993, and was just the Land Cruiser. No GX designation.

I have no idea on value, but it will depend on where you are located.

A 9/'89 build date would be a '90 model year. That VIN indicates it's an FJ81 and it may be a pretty early build. how many miles? sounds like a nice rig.

16 Years on ExPo. Whoa!!
It helps considerably when people edit their locations in their profiles to show location, for what its worth. Regardless, sounds like it could be an excellent vehicle.

In the US you would NEVER get car 00000001 off the line. That car would most likely be totaled for a crash test or destroyed before it was a year old.

Grim - apparently, it was built as first of a batch of 'sample cars' when the production line started........

Looks like its doubled in value between the 2nd & 6th posts in the thread anyway.......

But, gotta stay in storage for a few more yrs before it meets criteria for export to the States.

The earliest I've seen in the states is a production 2/90 and they were titled as 1991. It even said 1991 model on the emissions sticker. It was flareless and had steel wheels. I have a photo of the production tag some where. It was in a junkyard in Boise, Idaho. Sitting next to it was another early one, a 5/90, what was strange about this one is it had red velour interior and a red dash instead of the tweed that I've seen in every other FJ80. It also had an ice maker in the center console. Again, no flares, no wheels to be found so who knows what it came with from the factory.
