Yes, I am surprised. Mine was a 1988 also but I had a 2H. Not that it was that much faster...but I can't imagine a 3B in there.

this thing has been for sale for quite awhile.
Been for sale earlier on here and ih8mud. I believe a local guy said it is rough, that 7 would be closer to its worth.
Its one of those things if you don't have the ability to buy, it would be something you would buy. When the ability is there its something you would pass on.

It definitely looks worn, and yes a 3B would be less than ideal. I thought it was interesting because it is a LHD. With all the JDM stuff around here (mine included) I would have expected it to be RHD.
