How many Action Packer[s] in an LJ?

For people who use them, which and how many Action Packers can you store (not stacked) in an LJ with the rear seat in place? I am thinking I could fit two 8gal ones, probably even two 24gal, I am just if I could slide them in length wise, because of the angle of the rear seat.

Oh, and in the spirit of asking too much, if you have pictures I'd appreciate it. :)

Thanks!

With the rear seat in, I can fit two, but I have a platform that raises the floor, and since the seat back is sloped, that reduces the net depth available. I don't have a great photo of that condition, but this might give you a sense of scale:

With the rear seat out, and the entire platform in place, I can fit a lot:

Thanks for the reply and the pictures, Nathan! It looks like all of them are the 8gal ones, right? I don't think a 24gal would fit in the back lengthwise like that. The bottom picture with the two of them next to each other and the stove between looks like what I was thinking about. Can you fit the kitchen stuff in one 8gal OK or do you need two? Pots and pans, dishes, spices and all? I am torn between space for two (8gal) and usability (24gal), I don't want to get one of them just to have to take it back to get another, so the more information I can gather beforehand the better.

Thanks again,

I think the 24gallon is too big. I have one, and use it for firewood, but I store that on the rear tire rack.

I can fit my whole kitchen set up in the smaller Action Packer. I use one for Kitchen, one for Gear (like lanterns, fuel canisters, head lamps, and so forth), and one for Tools and Parts. I tend to overpack

Overpack indeed, at least it stacks up nicely! That picture with all your gear sprawled behind the Jeep is priceless.

Thanks a lot for the info and the pictures, they are indeed worth a thousand words :)

Well, all that stuff includes tools and spares for just about any situation. And enough gear and food for four people. I haven't noticed any significant change in my gear load out requirements on multi-climate trips if it's a quick weekend or a two week excursion. Seems to take about the same amount of stuff!
