How Many Miles

How many miles will the gen 2/2.5 last? is there any data on this? all be it subjective. I have my eye on a 1998 with locker @ 210k that looks to be in decent shape for $2700 and a 1995 SR with 160k that looks ok on the outside but the interior is pretty trashed for $1988 although i like the low price and miles, however i think the SOHC V6 in the 1998 might be easier for me to work on.

So i'd like to know which direction to go. is 210K on its last legs or should i go with 1995 SR and just deal with the interior?

I just spend a couple weeks looking for a clean SR. Most of the ones I saw listed had over 200k if that tells you anything.

It does actuallly. However those folks are selling (getting rid of them) @ 200,000 miles, not buying them. Im wondering if I buy one with 200,000 miles on it, is it going to go another 100.
I thought sure all of the mitsu owners would be chiming in bragging about their bulletproof monteros that never quit.

Well, I'm a new owner of an older Raider (89) and I bought it with 110K, which is the highest mileage vehicle I have ever purchased, in fact, I don't remember having a vehicle with miles like that!

My decission was based pretty much on the all the talk on this forum and 4x4 wire. And I liked the style of the little box. I know you'll be better off with a gen 2 than going my route, I look at parts before buying any car. Sorry I can't advise you on that one specifically, just as to the Mitsu brand, I'd put it with a Nissian and they run over 200K.

I had a '89 2-door that I traded years ago with 264,000 on it. No problems. I should have kept it as always. My current 2000 has 120,000 and I hope to keep it a long time. Local dealer (used to carry Mitsubishi) told me mine was still a baby as he has 3 that still come in for oil changes, etc.. with over 300,000 miles on them.
