How much did you pay for your M416 Dexter Axle?

I need a new axle, my OEM spindles are shot and I was just quoted $400+shipping for one with electric brakes and EZ Lube and nothing else. That sounds outrageous, what did you guys pay or should I just have a new spindle welded on? Not sure if thats a good idea on an off road trailer.

I was shopping around just for an axle beam with ezlube spindles only because i bought the brakes and hub's of craigslist and I found the theoempartsstore.com is having the best rates compared to all other local shops here in WA and few other online stores. Give a try.

I ordered my dexter through Mike at VMI Offroad for 169 just for the axle with ez-lube hubs. I didn't go with electric brakes though. The axle shipped from redneck trailers.

3500# axle with electric brakes and parking brake option shipped to local Redneck Trailer location for $300.

I paid $375 for the same thing, 3" dia. from Redneck trailer supply. The 3" diameter changes it to a #5000 rating though.

It took about 3 weeks to come in.

Wow thanks for the responses! Anyone have measurements for a M416a1 replacement axle? Mine bit the dust, bad spindles. I'm going to put FJ stock steel wheels on it.

You will have to weld the perches on. The axle size depends on the backspacing of the wheels you will mount on it. I think I bought a 63" axle due to the bed of my M416 being widened 3" by the previous owner and wanting to use stock backspacing jeep wheels, 5.25". Southwest wheeel only sells 0dd sized axles, 61", for example.
