Wanted a nozzle spigot for my Scepter/LCI water can so headed to Home Depot and came up with this.

Step 1: Go to hardware store
Step 2: Buy teflon tape ($1) and a 1/2 inch male Brass Hose Bib Valve ($10...don't skimp and get the one with the rubber inside {$6} it will leak in no time)

Step 3: Teflon tape that shiz and use your man (or woman) arms to screw it in

Step 4: Fill up with water and hit the road

Step 5: Go build an awning and a dual battery/solar set using evldave's kickass designs

You can buy the spigot in stainless as well, there are several variations of this setup floating around on here that have been great ideas.

This might have an obvious solution, but my LCIs do not line up well for pouring.
i.e. the relief valve is not really above the spout opening. How would one go
about accurately sanding down the filler neck to get everything to line up correctly?
Simple trial and error, or...?

Sand and check and sand again seems like the best bet to me...

I built one of these 12V systems using the whale pump and faucet. http://expeditionportal.com/water-system-in-a-can/ It's for sale here http://www.livingoverland.com/p/store.html but has already been back ordered for almost a year and looks like end of 2016 best case. I got sick of waiting so I ordered the whale pump GP1002 off ebay UK. There's tons of them on there it just took a while to get here. Then I got the 1/2 NPT tap and the shurflo 94-009-10 faucet from amazon. I sourced the tube and rubber grommet from ace hardware and radio shack has the cig plug adaptor. Here's the wire I used http://www.showmecables.com/product/162-direct-burial-speaker-cable-per-foot.aspx

The instructions are here http://www.livingoverland.com/2013/08/12-volt-water-system-scepter.html I would have rather ordered it from living overland since they pioneered it and did all the leg work putting together the instructions but I really needed it for this camping season.

Is there enough pressure out of the can to push through the filter?

It's not a filter. It's simply a threaded plastic piece that screws onto the garden hose or water bandit and has a ball valve to shut off the flow. I use one to fill up the water tank on my pop up if I'm going to be boon docking. Then the water doesn't splash everywhere from the hose.

I read it as filter, I guess the effect of a 3 month old cranky all night takes it's toll, in the link he provided there was a filter on the same page so my mind it was saying filter.

Reviving an old thread. I am using a 1/4 turn ball valve (typically used as a shut off valve under a sink or behind toilet) as a spout on an MWC. The issue I have is it doesn't self vent and you have to regularly lift up can to vent it. Am I simply using the wrong spigot/spout?

TIA
