For reasons not detailed here, I headed out to the Oregon Outback during the shutdown. My plan was to hit federal lands when the shutdown ended.
Two nights @ Kendal Jackson State Park and a couple of nights out in the middle of Warner Valley. Was actually headed home until a text came to me about the shutdown being over. Yippee.
Hightailed it to the federal lands and rejoiced that I actually made it. Sadly, it was a one night stay do to commitments/situation at home.
The hot springs were worth the wait and I will be back next year though a couple of weeks earlier as the morning lows were a tad out of my comfort zone(19-25 degree mornings). Still, I was prepared and all was good.
