I ordered a 12 volt air compressor and got a 24, any sage advice?

So I ordered a 12 volt Puma compressor off amazon.ca marketplace, and just got my nice new 24 volt one.

Anyone have any ideas for how I can make this work? I don't have any burning desire to return it yet, it was the only one of these I could find in Canada. I have been brainstorming ways to make it work, but haven't come up with much that makes sense.

Ok, I came to my senses and started the return process. But I am still intrigued by this idea.

Sometimes the motors are wound so that you can hook them up as 12v or 24v. Since this is a new unit and opening it up to rewire would obviously void the warranty I think returning it is the smart choice.

If you were stranded somewhere and needed to make a 24V device work you probably could, but makes no sense in these circumstances IMHO.
