Now for the wait for the license to show in the data base.

They thought I should take the extra did not do so hot on that one as I had not even seen those questions before.

Currently have a Icom 706MKIIG with AH-4 mounted in the truck. 102" Whip and a Diamond NR770HNMO for antennas.

Keep watching the FCC website, The waits have been pretty short once the data hits the FCC.

The Icom/ah4 is a nice combo. make sure you 102" whip is the stainless steal version and not the fiberglass one. You will quickly burn up the fiberglass with the tight coils.. Also the 102" is a bit short for 80m but will work ok 40-10, 6m with 102 can be temperamental

RB, That is OUTSTANDING!! I'd be stoked if I had pulled it off that way. Let us know when the callsign shows up.
With that performance the Extra will not be difficult for you, but don't let too much time lapse. As you're keenly aware right now, these tests cover a lot of similar subject matter and the question wording is very familiar to you right now. I'd say have some fun with the General license for a short bit to get the practical sense of how it all works, then study up and take the Extra while your head is still in the game. Once you pass that test you're DONE!, no worries and full privileges for life.
Very seriously.......great job!!

Yep the whip is SS mounted with a Breedlove mount http://bellsouthpwp.net/b/r/breedlove1/index.html very strong setup.
If I like how things are going on HF I am looking at upgrading to a Hi-Q-5/160 RT MC 4-H, Ruggedized
So I can better utilize the 80 and 160 bands

Good Job Rambush! I remember in my thread you said you were going to do both. That's pretty impressive! You must know your stuff. I just got my call sign this morning. Congrats!
