I want to switch out my trailer's 5 lug hubs to toyota 6 lug. Need some schooling.

Hey there-

I have a Trailblazer Venturcraft tent trailer.
It has its stock 5 lug hub but I would like to run 6 lug hubs on the trailer, to be able to use my 4runner's spare. I do not know the first thing about hubs. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd like to switch them out myself rather than have a shop do it.

Thanks

Post some pictures of what hub type you have. If it is a dexter it may be an easy swap Others may be harder to find a match.
Is there room to use adapters? Do the Toyota wheels have a deep back spacing? if so then adapters may be an easy fix.

Thanks for the reply Mark!
Yeah looks like they are Dexter's. Attached are a couple pictures.
The toyota wheels will have a 4.5 back spacing I believe, depending on the final wheel pick.

Those are easy to swap, simply pull the hubs and bring them to your local trailer shop and they can get what you need for less than a pair of adapters.

Super easy. Google "E-Trailer". They have great prices, quick shipping and will have the correct bolt pattern for you. If you have any plans to add brakes to your trailer now would be the time. Hubs are available with integral brake drums. A set of those along with a set of complete backing plates and some simple wiring and you are good to go.
