As we continue to delve into the complicated and rapidly evolving world of HDV and our team shifts from just photographers to (trying) being visual artists, imagery specialists or whatever the dual-purpose insanity that is DSLR HDV and still capture at the same time is called, we are finding tools that are helping.

One of the products we recently started using (thanks to Trevor for introducing us to it) is the iDC Photo Video System Zero

The company is run by Bruce Dorn, an excellent photographer and director. All of the parts are made in the USA, most in AZ.

Pretty amazing that the company is just down the road from our offices. Nice to buy from a local :D

Curious if anyone else has experience with Bruce or his products.

Bruce is somewhat of a super star in the wedding photography industry especially known for his lighting skills... I've interacted with him on the wedding photo forums.. good guy..

He is a good guy and actually spends a lot of time overlanding. He has a nice F350 with pop-up camper (I think a Northstar) and a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Guys like that are super inspirational once you start to dig into the quality of their work.

The brackets to hold the viewer and mic looks good, but not sure how you'd use the focusing wheel. What's the purpose?

I have known Bruce for about 7-8 years ? creative guy
we are both photographers so thats how we know each other :)

he is the real deal used to work in Hollywood so his video stuff is not fake its real stuff in the sense he knows what he is doing and designed like some of the top expedition guys would design stuff for overlanding :)

The front focus assist is like focus "low range' and is very intuitive to use. Roll the dial forward as object get further from you and roll it forward as they get closer.

It adds little weight to the camera and really protects it too.
