I have the AEV rear bumper and need some ideas on how to best mount a dual band HAM antenna to the mast. It is a horizontal flat plate at the top of the mast with 3 pre-drilled holes (5/8"). One of the holes has my 2' firestik for CB. Specifically I am looking for connector types, etc... Any help is much appreciated.

A photo would help. But with a 5/8" hole my first response would be that an SO-239 would fit without modification. That allows you to use the Japanese antennas, Comet, Diamond, Maldol. If you can drill the hole to 3/4" that would allow you to put a standard NMO mount in, which opens you up to most VHF/UHF antennas, either directly on the NMO or with an NMO-SO239 adapter if you wish. The 3rd type would be a 3/8" stud just like a CB antenna and there are a couple of 2m whips for that. IMHO the best option is to figure out a way to mount an NMO, that would give you the biggest selection and most flexibility.
