If your vehicle uses H11 headlight bulbs...
Just bought a Pontiac Montana for my wife, and found the headlights to be a bit too dim. It uses H11 bulbs which makes aftermarket bulbs a little harder to find. The good news is, an H9 bulb puts out 75% more lumens, just from a standard replacement H9 bulb.
The H11 bulb is 50W, and the H9 is 65W. But the H9 is also more efficient, and produces 2100 lumens vs. 1200. Again, we're talking standard replacement bulbs here.
The H9 fits in place of the H11 exactly. They are of the same design, just different filaments. The filaments are in the same location. All you have to do is trim down one of the retainer ears as they were coded to not fit in eachother's sockets. You also need to remove a key in the connector socket.
The mods didn't take long, and seem to work perfectly. The lights are noticeably brighter, and the pattern seems unchanged. The only thing is I may make an HD wiring harness since the stock wiring is pretty skimpy, even for 65W.
PS, those aren't my pictures, I didn't use a blue bulb.
