Installed Correctly??? Help!!!

Does this seem installed correctly? Does anyone have the smittybilt defender rack? Its mounted on a Tacoma. The brackets look backwards according to every picture and instruction manual I can find. The brackets are installed inside the pillar and the rack moves when I shake it because the sheet metal on the roof is the only thing it is mounted to. I would think it was suppose to be mounted to the pillar making it sturdy. I paid someone to do it and I cant figure out if this is done correctly or not. Any help is appreciated.

I dont have a defender rack but just doing a quick google image search I believe from the pics online

That yours look like they are installed backwards

Looks like they screwed that installation. Make them do it again.

ya I found the same pictures online, just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy... awesome...

it looks like they were going to line up with the built in rails of the roof. so they had to flip them. if things dont line up then you have to improvise.
