Installing Ford transit seat

I saw one write up where the guy used a piece of wood as a platform and had the mounts recessed into that. Can't find that now. Not sure if I should do something like that or just bolt them down to the floor...

Here's the seat from a 15 express never used. Some people were wanting $1000 for just one. Got this for $200 with brackets. Going in my 2007 GMC savana

That looks good thanks. How many bolts did you use on each mount?

Was it hard to get them lined up so the seats would go in easily. Would hate to bolt them all down then realize one is a little off.

I'm only have the one seat directly behind the driver and passenger. So now I got to decide if I want to do a platform around the mounts or not....

The longer rails use (3) bolts to mount while the shorter rails used (2) bolts each. I was lucky that the spacing of the body cross members were perfect for the rail lengths (I only had to drill one additional hole in each rail).

I mounted the seats in the rails and then marked the floor for the holes. I had to massage two areas where the floor ribs interfered with the rails (all rails are on the lower portion of the ribs).

The wood platform is nice (it extends all the way to the back doors) as it allows level loading when the seats are out and I can use the seat mounts as tie down points.

Bought it today and mounted it.

There were 3 brackets all the same length.

Wasn't sure which direction the go, not sure it matters.

Put two bolts on the outside ones. Middle one is over the tank, so I'd have to drop it to put ones in that bracket. Not sure how hard that is.

Used grade 8 bolts 1/2 inch, and medal brackets.

Now that I'm typing this I think I probaly put the brackets in back wards....

Looks good! I don't think it matters what way they go in but ya, yours run opposite to mine. What's nice is if the brackets are back far enough you can face the seats forward or back. We have 5 kids and our seats are 4 (two 2 seaters next to each other) and then a single. We can face the four backwards and the kids can chat and play games (and let us handle driving and navigating!).

We have 3 kids. Them all facing each other sounds like a horrible idea, would be them just fighting. Lol

Thought about just getting 3 single seat and placing them in a row to segregate them lol
