Interest in a day trip April 22, CO area?

Anyone? Something on the West side of the front range, it would have to be at lower altitude since everything higher and in trees has a couple feet of snow here and there.

We're thinking day trip with hiking and a picnic lunch :). Considering Switzerland Trail through Pennsylvania Gulch (or just S/T), or the Coney Flats loop, if it's open...or perhaps something South, but I haven't looked over the books yet.

Dude, what is your deal? Every time you schedule something like this, no matter how far out it is, it is on the one day that I can't do it. :sport_box

Just know that while you are out suffering on the trail, I'm having a birthday brunch with my grandma. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

LOL! Well, if it's anything like last Saturday, we'll be "suffering" in the high country with deli meats, blueberry Stilton, something bubbly, chocolate pudding and cheesecake, and a great view :wings:.

Bill, maybe it will make you feel better to think that Sean could be stuck in the snow. Some of the guys from the club went up to Yankee Hill yesterday, lots of /very/ stuck vehicles. Like winch stalling stuck.

Would love to but I'll be completing my Honey Do list so I can leave on my two day camping/fishing trip on April 24th.

Yeah that's a LOT higher altitude than I was thinking :p. With small/narrow tires you sink, tall/wide tires at low pressure you float and then slide off the side of the berm.

Not fun!

Kicking around the Dunes maybe...screw around in the AM, cut it out after lunch and grille with brew, throw a frisbee or something, head back in the evening.

Haven't really decided yet.

Ruthlessly stolen from the club thread. They started from the Central City side.

Yeah I saw the thread. Yuck!

Same sort of snow I found on 456C near Switzerland Trail last Saturday. On the bus, off the bus...usually off the bus. Maybe with very large cut boggers, but with my A/Ts I will stay happily out of the spring corn snow:088:
