Interesting new trailer design (Craigs list post)

Looks like the one thing the "aerospace architect" forgot to design in was bathroom facilities...... Even the old 70's popup camper trailers at least had a chemical toilet in an alcove.....

Overall I like the utility of it but I do wonder why they chose to cut up the exterior lines so much. With the exception of the airstream I tend to prefer traditional designs. Sometimes pictures don't do justice so I'll hold final judgement until I get to see one in person.

I suppose if you want a trailer that makes people go "fut the whuuuck?", thats your baby, but honestly I see nothing there that would convince me to drop 24 large on it.

Or it would go well with this...

Those are Cricket trailers. There was a thread on them awhile back.

I saw one set up at an REI in Seattle couple years ago. Kind of cool and funky.

I saw one being towed (with the beemer x5 it was hooked to) out of the muddy mess in the camping area at Expo last month. A deuce and a half was pulling the rig out due to the slick conditions. I didn't get a chance to go look at it before it was headed home. too bad, it looked pretty cool. The website has lots of cool pics, but nothing is better than touching and feeling one.

When they were first introduced they sold for 14k...I wonder what justified the 10k dollar price increase???

I think the printed the price wrong. No way I would spend even half that for a camper like that.

I recall when they first appeared they had nearly a year waiting list. Its a great rig for some one looking for a light weight rig. Lots of Urban families with $$$$ and smaller load capacity vehicles like my self had lots of interest in them. It fits in a standard 2car garage too. I've seen two in use one was owned by a solo older guy towing it with a VW Tiguan he was a MT bike guy liked to hit all the big trails etc. The other one was a young family of three towing with a Subaru Outback which my family could have easily been that family. Its a cool trailer light with some great features. Yes pricy but not as pricy as an Airstream.

I was very interested as well but concerned about the off road ability of the design. I also spoke with one of the engineers last year (when they were selling for 18k) and he reported that earlier models were having issues with rivets coming apart after light use off road. Not sure if that problem was fixed. I landed a fleetwood cobalt for a little under 5k (probably more then I should've paid) and I think it is far superior in off road worthiness and space utilization. The weight and looks of the cricket definitely do it for me though. If the price was still under 15k I'd probably have one in my garage right now, but I'm glad I got my cobalt.
