International parts support for domestic engines.

We are contemplating the direction to go with the drivetrain on our '66 town wagon and are wondering about support within the Western Hemisphere. Obviously North America isn't an issue so more specifically central and S.A. It currently has a 318 poly but it will require a rebuild. I'm more handy with stuff non EFI but can go either way I suppose. 6bt cummins is a tight squeeze, 4bt fits easy peasy but unsure on parts for them down south.

We aren't looking for the easy way, but the most reliable and efficient. (family rig)

Fire away and much thanks in advance.

You looking briefly online turned up what I should have looked for :) Id still love to hear if anyone has any personal experience. And don't take this personally, Chet if you have one, or anyone else, but a Ford engine will never reside in one of my vehicles.

I don't take much on the internet personally.:sombrero:

I drive a Ram/Cummins.
A mechanical diesel like a 12 valve should be pretty reliable.I don't know much about the 4bt,I think I read that they were used in bread trucks mated to a Turbo 400.
