is a LR for me?

It sounds like you have a curiosity/itch for LRs...You might as well go drive some and see what it's like. Try to drive them in varying conditions - that will give you a better idea if you 'fit' into them or not.

It does not matter how tall or how short you are. To own a Land Rover, you must have the love. If you do not have the love, you'll find the excuse to hate it.

Likewise, you cannot justify buying a Land Rover because of your height.

I agree with Hank. I am 6'2 with shoes on and it is a little tight but the love I have for truck far surpasses any room issues!:punk03:

dunknow. when the seat is all the way back on the stock 110 sliders, my shoulder is into the roll cage, and the line of sight out of the side isnt that good because the b-pillar is ahead of my head. 1/2 that issue goes away in a non NAS 110 without the cage. i was gonna fabricate a plate that would shift the seat an inch over to center because theres room. just moving the seat back creates another ergonomic issue because the wheel is set forward on these.

i may try another cheaper one, that i wont be afraid to take a saw too (import). but as a 110 nas sits, it should fit like a glove and have excellent sight lines for someone 5'-10" 180#'s. a buddy is 6'1" 270#'s and he aint too comfy driving it either.

Michael,

yes the b pillar does get in the way, i have to lean forward to see round it but its not to bad.

And on the PS, different Toby although I've met Matt, Toby and Chris a few times at different shows.

Cheers Tobias

I'm a short 5'8" but the trucks fit me fine after I put those blocks on the Pedals!

It's true, it's the Love, If you love the Vehicle/Marque you'll find a way to make it fit you.

i have a 91 and 92 range rover classics. i drove a friends 97 disco 1 for a few days and the classics have much better vision "up" in front of you. i found myself having to look under the roof line to see traffic lights in the disco. plus the seat seemed to go lower in the classic.
reliability? yours is a 91 mine is a 91, 205k on mine, just did head gaskets myself, pretty easy, 400$ out of pocket. dunno, seem pretty reliable to me. http://www.rangerovers.net/index.shtml#introhead
look here for most any info you need. easy to work on, parts aplenty,
but when i started looking into one 6 yrs ago, this was the only site that said " if you need all the warning lights to be out and everything working right all the time look elsewhere"
be careful the bug is hard to scrape off.
motto, " its a land rover thing, you dont have the patience to understand"

Disco seems like a good fit, i'm 6'2 and the windshield height bugs me a little but its not a huge issue, the interior space would also be a little tight if you often travel with more than 2 people but seeing as i usually go solo its a none issue.

Like everyone else has said, make sure your love it otherwise its going to end in tears. My 95 just turned 160,000km and has been dead reliable for the 20k i have owned it.
