Italian pop-up similar to fourwheelcamper

Their Nina version is shown mounted on a Ford Ranger. It has foam core fiberglass composite walls and roof. The roof is raised electrically at the 4 corners. Very nice interior.

I'm also partial to the exkab camper found at www.exkab.de
It has the front hinged tilting roof but aluminum exterior.
I think this guy made his own before starting his company.

I have drawings of a camper I want to build for my 4 door Tacoma that look just like the Xcab 1s. My version would be on a flatbed, all I need is for someone to rear end me so I have the cash and a reason to dismantle a perfectly good truck.

Greg, thanks for the link. This company also does business under the name Extreme Camper. Here's a web page that shows many of their interesting designs
http://www.lonno.it/gallery/extremecamper/

Among the ideas shown is this "back porch," raised and lowered by a hydraulic lift. The spare tire is attached to this mechanism.

I don't recommend a door at the rear of the camper because all the road dust and grime accumulates there, and you can't avoid dragging it inside. However, the floor of this this "back porch" design raises to cover the door while you're in motion. This might work!

Sweet camper! I would love a hard side pop up unlike the heavy Alaskan. A basic cabin with the ability to option as I wish. How about it Four Wheel camper?

Similar to an FWC? I sure don't see it. And I wouldn't expect FWC to try and compete with Alaskan either. Wouldn't make sense.

Check out the Nina on the Ranger that he mentioned. The Excab campers from the other link look similar too.

Ah, missed that on my first look. Don't know I really care for the bright yellow material. Makes my eyes hurt.

Wow, lots of Nissans on there. Sweet. I want one for my flatbed. If only I could weld and had unlimited access to diamond plate.
