Jackmate vs Hi-lift X-Treme heads

The Jack mate is an interesting peice. However, I have the 60" Hi-Lift X-Treme which has a real nice clamp head already.

What is the advantage to the Jackmate? I don't understand.

From their webpage(see below). I'm guessing the items I bolded may be some of the differences.

The JackMate® replaces a standard lift jack's limited capacity top clamp with a multipurpose attachment and is rated to the full capacity of the jack as a clamp, winch, spreader or a base.

The JackMate® slides over either end of the jack bar and is attached with a quick-release pin. As a top clamp, the JackMate® dramatically increases the jack's winching, clamping and crushing capabilities. As a replacement for the jack base, the JackMate® is engineered to "bite" into boards or logs to help prevent the jack from sinking in mud, sand, ice and snow.

Updated features include a super-grip, diamond plate top, wire fence pulling slots (which doubles as a bottle opener), an easier pin for attaching the JackMate® to the jack, and quick release replacement pin for the jack's base.

AHH, now I understand. Call me thick, but I finally noticed the most important differences.

The standard or X-treme heads on the Hi-lift are clamped on the side of the beam with one bolt. This puts the bolt into tension AND shear during load.

The Jackmate is a tube that is held in place by a large pin. This puts the entire load in shear on the pin. It also balances the forces evenly on the beam, as opposed to the standard head, which will cause side force on the beam in tension or compression. The Jackmate is not nearly as prone to bending the beam as the Hi-lift head is.

This is along with the other points you mentioned.

Now I see why it is worth it. A MUCH better setup for strength in all-around use.
