I have a few ideas for sliders in my head. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask what folks like or dislike about their sliders. So if you were to do it over again what would you change?

Alrighty, now when work lightens up a bit I can start on the sliders.

I do have one other issue (unless its all in my head) I cant for the life of me figure out this dragging sensation. I searched a little on T4R and came across a thread on frozen calipers so I may look into that. I wish I could describe it better but it feels like brakes dragging. Ill disconnect the parking brake to eliminate that.

I noticed after my lift the e brake was under tension and my e-brake would drag. I undid the rear most bolt holding the bracket to the frame and no issues since.

Ditched the carbon filter out of the air box. Started the vsc, trac disable mod. I put a single wire connector on the wire to provide the break in the circuit. I still need to get a switch and then I will just connect it to the connector, then to the switch. I figure this way if I have any other issues I can just plug it in under the hood and it looks factory.





And tested it on my rti rock (4lo works great too!)

basically yes. You can turn off vsc without locking the center diff.

Also turns off traction control. For instance with it connected I climbed that rock and when a wheel lifted and spun the traction control pulsates the abs module and does its thing. With it turned off you can just spin the tires when a wheel is lifted with out the annoying pulsation. Plus it takes you back a few years when we did not have traction control and we were suppossed to know how to drive

Good old days of no traction control, abs, TPM sensors and simple DIY mechanics. Miss it dearly. Although I really like ATRAC on the 4Runner.

Found some time to get started on building sliders. Im using 1.75x.120 DOM. I will be welding these on but I am going to wait until I get lifted and proper tires.

I think I figured out exactly where I want them. I have not seen any in person so I am not exactly sure how far or close to put them to the pinch weld on the rocker panel. Im happy with where I have them mocked up, as they are pretty close to the pinch weld but plenty of clearance when opening doors. We'll see how I feel when it comes time to weld on.

I got the main parts finished and welded. Ill do final install when I get the lift and tires. I really dont want to have to answer the questions people will ask if I install these on stock. More motivation to make some money for lift and tires
