Jeep Cherokee Overland

I don't like the paint job, but I like the direction Jeep Corp is thinking.

I like the idea, but I'm afraid that it's a flash in the pan.

If they would offer something like this from the factory with a warranty, I would consider buying it.

Looks like a Liberty to me... They are looking the right direction. But it's still kinda like putting lipstick on a pig if you ask me. JEEP needs to go back to the basic's and all keep it simple and affordable. Just my 2 cents worth.

OK, I'll say it, I like it. Now they won't build one that way but that doesn't mean you can't. Although the only consideration is the engine. The one in the Cherokee is a 2.8L CRD which isn't available in the Liberty unfortunately. I like the boxyness of that gen Liberty. IFS doesn't bother me too much since it's not a rockcrawler. Those are 32's on there though. Looks good with them on. Other then the vinyl stripes which come off, I'd take it.

id buy it and redo quite a bit of things, the over all look is kind of appealing. im not a fan of liberties at all but this is one of the best ive seen so far. but there are things i know i would not like about it.
i cant bring myself to buy a car (especially a jeep) it has to be built by me. the factory does an alright job with jeeps (although thats debatable these days) but still it can be improved upon greatly to match anyones taste

Its for export only... and a Cherokee by name only. Jeep has been lost since the demise of the original Cherokee.

You know, Liberties are a lot better than most of you give them credit for. They are getting built up and wheeled quite often. They certainly aren't rock buggies, but they'll go anywhere a similarly modified Cherokee or Grand Cherokee will go.

Here's a friend's KK with 4" of lift and custom bumpers.

This is my wife's KJ, 4" of lift, 4.10s, full under body amour, and rear seat delete.

The Liberties are on safari in Moab the last two weeks of May. If you see us around, feel free to chat us up.

As an aside, every new Jeep gets dissed.
XJs and ZJs were uniframes.
YJs had rectangle headlight and more road tuned suspension.
WJs offered a transfer case that has no 2-Hi.
TJs had coil spring abominations.
WKs had IFS.
JKs were too big to be Wranglers.
MKs were front wheel drive based.
WK2s had IFS and IRS.

Then the aftermarket kicks in and the things get built.

Have they come out with better CV shafts that can handle the lift?
Same with the front IFS differential?

Thinking about getting one for my wife, but I can't pull the trigger 'til I can make it as good as my XJ.
