Hey folks,

I'd like to hear opinions on people's experience with various front-end receivers for the Jeep JK. I presently have a Warn VR8000 winch in a receiver cradle; for the type of travel I do, this is a more versatile solution with it being able to me mounted front or back.

Does anyone here have or can comment on:

1) Curt or Hidden Hitch front receiver mounted to the frame and a stout front bumper for animal strikes (i.e. what is compatible?)

OR

2) Aftermarket front bumper with a receiver hitch built in providing animal strike protection and the receiver point all in one?

What do you folks think/have experience with?

Cheers

:sombrero: I have an Olympic "530" series (I think) front 2" hitch receiver bumper, that I've used for/with my mobile winch-

I've only moved logs and my trailer, no full vehicle recovery-

This pic is just tow strap, not winch !

I can't say anything about it's strength for animal resistance !

I've used hidden hitch in the past "TJ" with a warn 9000 and a stock bumper. Also with a warn bumper... No problems. Currently I have an Olympic same as Jimbo's "533-174".

Thanks fellas!

Jimbo, that bumper looks alright -- looks like you can also pair it with one of these for more animal strike protection:

You mentioned you have not yet used it for vehicle recovery, I can't find any specs but if I do I will post them up! It would be nice to have an approximate class rating at least on that item as that combo would work well.

Idahoan, Thanks for the information on the hidden hitch option! That may work also!

Cheers
