Jeep JK Unlimited Mojave special edition

Expedition Leader
Jeep just introduced a special edition of the 2011 Wrangler Unlimited called the Mojave. The package starts with a Wrangler Unlimited Sport S model, adds monochrome paint, black taillight guards, some upgraded interior trim and floor mats, leather seats, and lots of graphics featuring lizards. From a performance perspective, the most interesting part of the package is the Rubicon's wheel and tire package, 32 inch tall tires (AT? MT?) on 17 inch rims. The package costs about $1500 more than the Unlimited Sport S model.

I bet the gecko graphics would come right off with a heat gun...

I like the lizard theme.

But it's not a gecko - no geckos in the Mojave AFAIK. The signature species is more likely the Desert Iguana (below) or the Chuckwalla.

One Crazy FJ
Seems like Jeep has blown another great opportunity to jump start sales of off-road vehicles...Do they ever read a forum or listen to reviews in the marketplace ?

If they paid any attention to the general consensus that the JK is extremely underpowered, they would have saved all that R&D on stickers, and focus group about interior colors, and dropped a 6.4L Hemi in the thing - call it the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Mojave SRT8 - and every person on the fence about buying a remodeled, yet still gutless JK would be in line at the dealer to pre-order tomorrow.

There is a reason US car makers are having a difficult time retaining old customers and attracting new ones - it is their almost arrogant inability to give people what they really want, and instead try to get them to buy what they'd rather sell...

Chrysler (I guess I should say Fiat...) - Good luck with your hi-performance sticker package.... :Wow1:

Now if you could get this without the hood decal and with Rubicon underpinnings, that would be hard to beat. My wife's been pushing to replace her DD with a JK, this may just be the catalyst.

If im not mistaken, the Mojave package comes with a 6spd, and I think you can option the factory locker in it as well.
