Here's a look at a heavily camouflaged pre-production version of the vehicle that will replace the Patriot and Compass. Looks like the unnamed new vehicle will lean toward the mini Grand Cherokee side of the Jeep family. The vehicle will be built on a stretched version of the Renegade chassis. Seems destined to occupy the $20K-$27K price range, cheaper than Cherokee and more expensive than Renegade. I expect Jeep will stick "Trail Rated" badges on at least one version.

Cool, now if they would just release some spy pics for the new wrangler based truck that's coming our way!

IF there is a trailhawk version of this, I think I will be getting one as my next DD...and shift my wrangler to more trail duty.

Yeah really. Barlow, is that the company that was on the teraflex website renting jeeps with their gear?

Looks like Jeep will sell the new model alongside the Patriot and Compass during 2017.

The sales figures say that the MK-twins are the best selling platform for Jeep and have continuously improved with 2016 expected to be the best yet. Given it's a mild evolution of the Caliber, the development costs were recoup'd long ago. I'm looking forward to the reveal and the initial reviews. I think this could continue the trends of the Compatriot.

I was about to say sales must be way up.
I just took a trip through central Utah and easily half of the vehicles I saw around the national parks were patriots and compass'.

No longer a mystery: Jeep Compass Revealed

I think it looks good, better than the current Compass but not great. I'd prefer it were boxy.
There will be a Trailhawk version with the Active Low (Renegade-like) version of the drivetrain. Unlike the Renegade, TH front fascia is not significantly different than the non-TH, at least on the Brazilian model shown. Interior volume looks to be closer to the Cherokee (which isn't very efficient) than the Renegade (which offers good utility despite the small size).
For worldwide, there are 17 engine options. Speculation for the US model range from the Renegade offerings (1.4T & 2.4 I4s) to various displacement turbos and turbo-diesels. Assuming weight is between the Renegade and Cherokee, the 1.4T probably won't cut it, and I have my doubts about the 2.4 which has the same power/torque as the 1.4T, and has proven to be over-taxed in the Cherokee. I could see the 2.4 being the base and something like the 2.0T Huricane (detuned to 210HP) being the TH engine. I don't think a manual will be offered here, so expect the 9spd auto regardless of the engine.

Here in Arizona, there are a ton of Compass & Patriot in the rental fleets. Most are 2 wheel drive units but there are some 4x4s around. The new Compass is actually a decent looking vehicle.
