Jerry can spout

For my NATTo cans I have some of the all metal spouts (first image). They tend to leak.
I also have some of the rigid metal with the flexible plastic end. No leaks.
When the cans are on the roof rack I use a siphon with a bypass so I don't suck fuel, that I made for about $5.

I have a Super Siphon as well, and it's worked great so far. Not only does it empty a 5-gal gas can in a matter of minutes, it works great for draining washing machines full of soapy water when they die in the middle of a wash load (don't ask how I know  )

I also have two of the Wedco Petrol Spouts on order from Expedition Exchange, so I can't say yet how well they work, but most reports seem to indicate they do the job pretty well. I primarily ordered them just because you won't be able to order them for much longer, but in all honesty, when it comes to transferring fuel from the gas can to the tank of your car, it doesn't get much easier than the Super Siphon.

Everyone is correct. The super siphon is fantastic, but when you just want/need a spout the standard semi flexible units for NATO/Wedco work well. However, when only the best will fit the bill I highly recommend this little gem.

It is absolute incredible. I ordered two of these and will use nothing else now.

That is the one that I have. I modified mine by getting the unleaded end of the cheap chinese kind pictured here

It breaks right off without much effort. It will fit inside the end of the one shown below. Rough the outside edge with sandpaper, put a bit of JBWeld on to hold it, let it dry overnight, and its good to go.

I'm using the good old blitz jerry can. the super siphon is a great Idea.

Some of the older Jerry Cans have some flaking of the lining. If you used a super siphon with one of those, you will get the material in your gas tank. The nozzles pictured that are made from the flexible copper, include a very fine screen which filters out all the flakes of lining material. As long as your cans are clean, no problem with the super siphon. If they have liner problems, you need a filter of some kind. I've heard of folks using a sock over the inlet of the super siphon, but that would be hard to fetch out of a can if it came off.

I tried the HF version of that and could NOT get it to do anything. Was it the Chinese instructions, the equipment or the operator? Should I try to name brand? Is there a trick to getting them to work?
