JK and WJ Axle Geometry

Does anyone know off hand if the JK and WJ axles share the same control arm mounting brackets on the axles?

Wondering if JK axles are an "easy" swap onto a WJ...

TIA

I don't believe they do. I have a friend who is swapping in jk 44's into his wj i will check with him and let you know.

iron rock offroad makes a kit for this swap. not sure how much work is involved. look in the WJ products section.
-website down at the moment for maint. or id link it.

I thought I read of a guy on colorado4x4.org who swapped JK axles directly into his XJ. Not sure if that's any indication, but I thought WJ & XJ axles were swappable (with the exception of bolt patterns of course)

Spendy conversion...but axles are never cheap. On the plus side, you've getting a trussed JK 44. Throw in a set of sleeves in the front, gusset the C's, and some chromo shafts and you'll be ready to run 37's...or keep it at 35's and your axles will last a long time, even under abusive conditions.

i believe tj, zj, and xj axles swappable. Not sure about xj and jk axles being swappable i don't think so(at least not easily).

XJ's have rear leaf springs. JK's have rear coil springs.

Even if track width was the same (JK's are wider), the difference in springs would mean that it couldn't be a straight swap. It may be a relatively "easy" swap, but you're still going to be making some substantial changes to either the JK axle or your XJ.
