JK Expedition One Rear Bumper/Jerry Cans

I'm glad that I've held off on a rear bumper, this thing looks fantastic. I'm really impressed when a company goes as far as reinventing the venerable gas can design.

I've seen those at Cabela's also. Anybody know if they have CARB issues?

They are not CARB compliant cans, just regular consumer grade spout and vent on the back. I know Exp.One is looking into the CARB compliance with the cans.

i've also heard quite a few stories of major leak issues from
atv users.

Theres a story behind this.. the owner of Expedition One took his design to someone a few years ago and it was stolen. He made improvements in the one pictured. He wouldnt name the company that did him dirty.

I'm awaiting reply to a few questions on these fuel cans. I believe they are 4gallon.

That sucks... One more reason to buy them from Expedition One!

Where did those pics come from? Their site doesn't have a rear bumper for the JK yet....

They are from a thread on jk-forum created by Expedition One. To my knowledge the bumper has not yet been released.

Leak issues on atv's might stem from the cans being constantly on their sides getting the crap knocked out of them. In a standing position without the strain on the cap they may not be so prone to leaking.

thats a good point.

i fiddled with the idea of using these(http://www.montanajacks.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1238) mounting tabs on the side of my jeep(above the rear fender flare, below the window.

they would be super thin against the jeep keeping about 8gallons of fuel fairly low on the vehicle but above the kind of obstacles i'd be driving my jeep past...
