JK seats

Gentlemen,
I am in the process of building a 1967 Land Rover 109 as a family expedition vehicle. One issue I have is the rather agricultural seating which shows it's 60's vintage. All very cool black vinyl but not particularly safe in the event of a rear shunt. Having measured a friend's JK seats I think I can make them fit with a bit of modification. The rear bench looks like it might be a suprisingly good fit wit the added advantage of a 3 point belt built into the seat for the center passenger.

The big question is where is a good place to find wrecked JK's or parts stripped from modified rigs? It will take me at least a year to get this truck up and running so I can afford to take some time.

Oh yeah, the JK is a nice truck - I think Land Rover is loosing out big time not having anything to match it's market position.

Regards
Gregor

Put your feelers out for some late model Jeep recyclers, they should be able to help you , maybe not at the moment, but in the future.

You should be able to find 2-door rear seats -- plenty of people are taking them out -- maybe post in the wanted section of JK-Forum.com.

I'm removing the 40 section of the 60/40 rear seats out of my 4-door, but generally people aren't removing the 2nd row in 4-doors. :)

jk seats

a few days ago while looking through craigslist i saw a pair. i do not know if itwas in the vgas-socal-az- area as i was doing a search for a hard top for my tj.

i did buy mastercraft baja seats a year ago for my jk but they ended up in my tj. maybe you can call mastercraft to see if they have a pair that they took out.

Thanks for the info.
I'll have a huhnt around on the internet. I guess things will get easier once the JK is a little older and those who cannot drive exact their toll.

Cheers
Gregor
