JKU Awning with no roof rack?

I have a 2013 JKU hardtop. I would like to make an awning, but I do not have a roof rack to mount it on. Has anyone seen of thought of a way to mount an awning other than using a roof rack type mount? Surely I am not the first with this thought.

I do have this trail rack...but not sure if it could be used or not.

Thanks for the thoughts

If the awning can deploy from the back, you have more options without adding load bars from Yakima, Thule, etc.

Kelty (and other manufacts) have different options that you could hook onto your rear window or through your doors.

I have a 12x12 noah's tarp and it's very big for backpacking, but about perfect for camping. You could easily rig tie-downs to the vehicle and run it out to poles with guy lines like a regular awning or rooftop mount.

You could definitely mount the smallest ARB awning to your tail rack.

Otherwise, maybe with some kind of rain gutter mounts on the side?

Hi

This options cost very little and take up little space.

I attached mine Smittybilt trailshade to the glas door, very easy. You can put on the door or a tree. Cost about 59 dollars

I also have a ordinary tarp with rope and some poles.

I love the trail rack. I just got my LOD Rear bumper about 2 months ago and it is on my list of things to purchase next from them. I got the armor lite front bumper about 1 month ago from them. Love the product. The trail rack looks great! Sorry off topic I cannot help you with your question! LOL
