joining cab to chassis

Hi all, im in the planning stages, have most of the bits sorted, but, im stumped about joining the cab to the chassis. Irish campervan regulations state there must be a walkway through to the cab from the living area.

i have an iveco 40.10 cab chassis

im buying a refrigerated box unit (reefer), 11 feet x 7, the logic being its already insulated.

im going to build a pivot to compensate for chassis flex, so I need some kind of flexible material, rubber maybe or similar, to serve as a walkway between the two. im all out of ideas...

anyone had a similar problem?

regards,
ned .

sorry for being a smartass :) i know your trying to help. i was unfamiliar with the term "bellows". i put this same post up on horizinsununlimited and it seems curtainsider material is a popular choice. i was mulling over it while driving and i thought to myself, get some tractor tyre tubes, cut them up, use tyre adhesive to bond two layers together, bingo. theyd be a bit smelly for a while though

Does this opening have to be always open? Meaning, could you have two doors? Sort of like the gap between old rail cars. Then there is no need for the flexible boot.

good question. according to the regulations i think it does. ill definitely have an inward opening door on the camper section though, as it would negate all the insulation.

i was reading through other topics and came across this stuff, which is perfect
